Grantown
on Spey has much to offer the visitor with all types of outdoor
activities and interesting places to visit. The town itself, the
capital of Strathspey, is a fine example of
18th century planning with Victorian villas, a wide main street
flanked with good quality shops and a town square.
From right outside the door
of Holmhill House, you can explore some of the fantastic scenery
that surrounds you by walking through the woods that lead
to the River Spey, where many a fisherman can be seen fly
fishing for Salmon.
During your walk look out for Red Squirrels,
Rabbits and Deer. |
|
The nearby lochan has ducks that are always
hungry and invariably you will find several of them snuggled
up asleep on the front lawn of Holmhill.
